Dance/Yoga Session this Sunday!!

We are proud to announce our first DDPP™/Yoga Combo!

We’ll dominate the dance floor with 20 minutes of classic DDPP, take a short break to catch our breath, and then get our bend on with yoga led by special guest Amy Snyder.

About Our Rad Yoga Instructor: Amy Snyder, originally from Ohio, began her practice of yoga over 5 years ago as a way to help her quit smoking. Not only did she quit, but fell in love with yoga and has continued practicing ever since. She enjoys sharing the experience of a yoga class in a heartfelt and thoughtful way as both teacher and student. Amy received her teacher training from Laughing Lotus Yoga Center in NYC. You will be able to find her teaching at Seeking Samadhi Yoga Studio in Jersey City which is opening this month! She is also available for private and small group classes by appointment.

The session will be fun for beginners and experience yoga-masters alike, so join us this Sunday, November 15 from 2:00-3:30 pm in Room 4G of 440 Studios, 440 Lafayette St. Only $8.

Thanks to all the spooky gals who came out to our Halloween-themed DDPP™ session last week! In order to let you rest up after all that trick-or-treating you’ll be doing this weekend, there will be no DDPP™ session this Sunday, November 1.

Dance Dance Party Party™ will roll back into town Sunday, November 15 at 2:00 pm. We’ve got some spectacular djs and exciting surprises on the horizon, so keep an eye out for the general awesomeness heading your way.

DDPP™ Sunday, Oct. 18th–It’s Gonna be a Thriller!‏

Ahead of the curve as always, Dance Dance Party Party™ is hosting a special pre-Halloween-themed session. No one’s handing out raisins here–We’re offering up the King Size Snickers of play lists, including delightfully disturbing tracks such as the Ghostbusters theme, Nightmare on My Street by DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince, and of course, Thriller, courtesy of DJ Dana on the Loose.

Join us this Sunday, October 18 in Room 4G of 440 Studios at 440 Lafayette St. for only $8. Monster mashing will begin at 2:00 pm, but latecomers are always welcome. By the end, we may even have an answer to the age-old question: Who makes better dancers? Zombies or Vampires?

DDPP! this Sun, Oct 4th in Studio 4G-Autumn Spice

Fall is here, and it’s gotten a little colder, but it’s gotten a little richer too. The colors on the trees are deeper, the farmers market is filled with delicious pumpkin breads and apple cider, and this Sunday Dance Dance is taking on a bit of spice. Hot Latin influences, deep sultry songs, we’ll put together a playlist that’ll get you right in the mood for a new season. 440 Lafayette Street, Studio 4G, $8. Hope to see you there!

Update: DDPP-Dirty Dancing Edition this Sunday

Hi Everyone! I’ve been thinking about it this morning and Patrick Swayze was really a dance idol for me when I was little. I remember watching that fantastic final scene in Dirty Dancing and practicing that step he does up the aisle as he’s making his way towards Baby over and over (step-snap-step-snap, pivot, hip, hip!). Anyways, I’m sure a lot of you have similar memories, so in his honor this Sunday’s Dance Dance will have a special setlist centering on the music of Dirty Dancing. There isn’t quite enough music on the soundtrack to fill the whole hour and a half, but it’ll fill a lot. Come have the time of your life, feel the wind through your tree, and get your Baby out of the corner. Hope to see you there! -Dana
